I agree with you that we Deaf should not be called "hearing impaired". I'm proud to be deaf. When I got involved in a car accident in 1988, I reacted when the young man asked me if I was hearing impaired when I told him that I was DEAF (I can speak). I think the problem here is the Webster's Dictionary does not have "Deaf" in it. I mean with capital "D" so people think HI is the next best word.<BR/><BR/>Also some Deaf people rather to be called HI it is an identity issue.
